The Daniel and Henry Co. is pleased to announce the first recipients of our inaugural Jeans BeCause program: Lydia’s House, Missouri Botanical Garden and Campbell House Foundation, Inc. Throughout the month, D&H employees have the opportunity to give back by donating a portion of their paycheck each week that gives them the privilege to dress down in jeans once a month – a very big deal around here! Here is a little more about each of the not-for-profit clients that we are supporting this month:

Lydia’s House works in good faith to end domestic violence by being a place of healing and a voice of hope for abused women and their children. They provide safe, affordable transitional housing for women and families in a confidential location. The organization also helps these families make and achieve short and long-term goals that may include education, employments and future housing assistance. The volunteers at Lydia’s House also speak publically to create awareness about domestic violence.

Missouri Botanical Garden is a place where people gather to learn more about science, conservation and horticultural display. Their mission: “To discover and share knowledge about plants and their environment in order to preserve and enrich life.” It’s one of the reasons why Daniel and Henry Co. decided to support this organization – education is essential for sustainability. Today – 153 years after opening – the Missouri Botanical Garden is a National Historic Landmark

Campbell House Foundation, Inc. has served the greater St. Louis area as one of the region’s premier historic property museums. The museum preserves and protects the building’s original furniture, pictures, fixtures and other material because the property has been noted as one of the most historically significant buildings in St. Louis.
