June 30, 2015: St. Louis, MO—Employees at The Daniel and Henry Co. were up for the challenge this year to get in shape, lose weight, eat healthier and get active! After completing 2 quarters in “The Biggest Winner” challenge, Daniel and Henry’s team is 854.8 pounds lighter. And two local charities, St. Louis Area Foodbank and The Humane Society of Missouri, benefitted from all of this weight loss.

Senior Services Plus, Inc., was the recipient of our March Jeans BeCause program.  Senior Services Plus, Inc., was established in 1973 after three seniors-Floyd Galliher, Art Steinman and Roy Morrow-realized the need for more senior programs in the Alton area. These three seniors soon formed the Alton Area Senior Citizens Council which, through several metamorphoses, has become the present-day Senior Services Plus, Inc.

The Eugene Field House was our January Jeans BeCause recipient.  The Eugene Field House & St. Louis Toy Museum was the boyhood home of Eugene Field, who is beloved to this day as the “Children’s Poet” and widely known as the “Father of the Personal Newspaper Column”.

Empac Group was our December Jeans BeCause recipient.  Empac Group is a not-for-profit corporation whose purpose is to employ persons with developmental, mental, and physical challenges in Franklin County. Their workshops help their employees develop themselves as workers, with the goal to help them excel as far as their desire and ability can take them until they are of retirement age.
